Mrs. Ehlers - 2nd Grade
Hello!!
My name is Kari Ehlers. I grew up in North Platte, NE and graduated from North Platte Saint Patrick's in 2007. I earned my Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education-Unified and Masters Degrees in Instruction and Curriculum from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. I landed my first teaching job in 2013 at Little Fish Preschool, in Kearney. I joined Gibbon Public Schools in 2016 and taught both preschool and 1st grade there. I started teaching 2nd grade at Central Elementary in 2023 and have really enjoyed every moment.
I teach all 2nd grade students Reading and Social Studies at Central. My co-teacher, Ms. Goodwin, teaches Math and Science. One of my favorite things about teaching is when students have their "light bulb moment" and I get to help them achieve that. It is truly rewarding! I fully support KPS's motto "Be KIND" as I strive to help students not only achieve academic successes, but also watch them become kind, loving, responsible, respectful, wonderful young people.
In my spare time, away from school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Justin and our 4 children; Logan, Mason, Carson & Jordyn. As a family, we enjoy spending time with extended family and friends, playing games, reading books, cooking, being outdoors, attending church, and cheering on our children in their many activities that they are involved in.
Please reach out to me if you have any questions!
